FES Parent Nights will be conducted by grade-level. Please read the flyers carefully for additional information. During these meetings, you will have the opportunity to meet with teachers, receive information about state testing, ask questions, and learn strategies for helping your child at home.

AFTER-SCHOOL tutoring begins TODAY! Tutoring is from 2:45 - 4:30 p.m.! If your child received a Tier 2 or Tier 3 letter, you should have received a permission letter to attend. It is not too late! Please bring their permission letter to the school tomorrow so we can get students where they need to be. The FMSD department of athletics raffled off a $20 gift certificate to Hibachi Express at the September 12th Forest-Union volleyball match as part of the new "Dinner on the Bearcats" program. The program is designed to increase fan attendance at home ball games. The lucky winner was Angela Roebuck. She is pictured with her daughter, Union volleyball player Lauryn Roebuck.


Brother David Slaughter and Mr. Eddie Clark of Forest United Methodist Church stopped by Hawkins Middle School this morning with a donation of school supplies. We greatly appreciate the generosity of the ladies and gentlemen of the church and community for making this happen.

Attention!!!
The Middle School and JV Bearcat Football games against Newton that were scheduled for today has been postponed until tomorrow, Tuesday, September 13th, at 5:30.


The athletics department has introduced a new program called “Dinner on the Bearcats.” At select home ball games, gift cards from local restaurants will be raffled off. We will raffle off a $20 gift card to Hibachi Express at tonight’s volleyball game. Let’s sell out our gym, and be sure to hold on to your ticket stubs!


Newsela Educator Spotlight: Congratulations to our EL Program Coordinator, Shelley Silvas, for ranking in the top percentile of Newsela users in the FMSD. Mrs. Silvas has also earned the opportunity to be featured in the Newsela Educator Spotlight section of the monthly Mississippi Department of Education Newsela Newsletter.
