The Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) has announced nine regional literacy meetings to support families of Kindergarten through 3rd grade students across the state. These meetings are designed to provide parents and guardians with valuable information and resources to help children become successful readers.
Purpose of the Meetings:
Families will learn about effective reading strategies, how to support literacy development at home, and the role of the Mississippi Literacy-Based Promotion Act in ensuring every child reads on grade level by the end of 3rd grade.
Meeting Details:
🕒 Time: 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. at all locations
💲 Cost: Free to attend

👨👩👧 Who Should Attend: Parents, guardians, and family members of K-3 students
📌 Families in all surrounding communities are invited to attend regardless of the location.
