Self-control is our word of the month for the month of May at Forest Elementary School.
Our students are learning that self-control means controlling your emotions, words, actions, impulses, and desires.
Students are learning to show self-control by:
*thinking before we act.
*staying “in control” when angry without having temper tantrums.
*making good choices. (For example, walking in a line instead of running or eating a healthy lunch instead of junk food.)
*stopping yourself from doing something wrong or dangerous.
*absolutely no hitting or fighting.
*being able to ignore unkind words.
*being willing to apologize.
*being willing to listen to each other.
*being willing to cooperate and plan together.
*being willing to discuss a problem with our words.
*being willing to compromise and meet in the middle.
*being able to walk away from a problem and choose something new.
Have SELF-CONTROL Bearcats! But most importantly…..BE KIND!
