In numerous scientific studies have confirmed that the more exercise a student gets, the better his or her grades are likely to be. And that’s not all. In several studies of Mississippi students, more fitness was associated with better behavior and less absenteeism. Suggested Reading Activities for Parents

It is critically important for students to continue improving their reading skills over the summer. The Mississippi Department of Education has provided a Parent Read at Home Plan.  This plan provides activities that parents can do at home in the five components of reading: phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension.  The Partnership for Reading published a brochure called Put Reading First, Helping Your Child Learn to Read.
